I am a devoted believer in Kim Scott’s Radical Candor approach. Her basic argument is that you have to be both caring and direct for your feedback to be accepted. (see diagram below)

This article gives fantastic, concrete tips on how to ask for and receive constructive feedback from others. Feedback from others helps build our own self-awareness which provides the foundation for improving performance and developing our leadership.
